Ford Ka 2009

Seen the new James Bond film lately? well if you have you'll know that for once it's not just an Aston Martin that's the car of the film. Ford asked the makers of the film if they would feature the new Ford Ka in it and if you have seen the Ka doing its thing then hopefully you were impressed by it.The Ka has now been with us for an astonishing 12 years and over that time has become one of the most successfully sold compact cars all across Europe. Ford realised that after these 12 years the last thing they wanted was for it go out of fashion so they thought they should give it a make over and the results are brilliant. It's a very good looking car and is definitely going to attract those first time buyers. It's not much of a challenge for the Lamborghini Estoque but unlike the Lambo the Ford Ka hasn't had Italian designers slobbering all over it!Fords timing is also very good, considering that everyone is looking to get a smaller can because of petrol prices and the credit crunch. Also the tax on this car is pretty low as well beating the old Ford Ka by miles. I really liked the old Ka but there was a problem with it. It wasn't that economical and I'm not a green freak or anything but a car that small shouldn't be emitting that much. Because of that the old Ka was almost trying to be something its not and that is very uncool. But Ford have now got rid of it and replaced it with one of the best compact cars this world has seen in a long time. Its got loads of different gadgets as well with an Ipod/MP3 plug in slot, heater seats (luxurious in such a small car) and climate control.It does look similar to the new fiat 500 but in no way is it comparable. It's going to have 3 options for an engine. Either the 1.2 liter petrol, 1.4 liter petrol or for the first time ever you can have the 1.3 turbodiesil engine. It delivers no more than 120g/km of Co2 so if you have a conscience for the environment there are now worries there. They are also going to launch an Econetic version similar to the new Ford Fiesta. This is going to be a big hit for all those in need of their first car, Ford is definitely going to feel good results from this car.
