Ok, it's time to face facts. Driving a petrol car is no longer fun and the same for a diesel. There was a time when people would go out for a drive just to have fun but now that hardly ever happens and I wish it did. I would love to be able to drive a 911 turbo or an Aston DB9 but with our future looking grim I just can't have fun knowing its not always going to last. Being a bit of green freak. I have always tried to make out that I don't like 4X4's but I secretly love em. They are big, shouty and have got to be the most fun things to drive, I have always been put off though because I have had a feeling that if I was to get one someone (more of a green freak than me) will come along and slash my tires so I have always wanted to avoid them but not anymore..........
Land Rover many not be the sort of car company you'd think I write about seeing as I try to avoid 4X4's but I think this is the first one that genuinely want! Ok, so its not electric because electrifying a Land Rover would be like turning down a night with Cheryl Cole. Land Rovers were made to get around the world, not to save it. Its name.......The Land Rover LRX (even the name sounds cool) and instead of emitting 100 million g/km it emits jus 120 meaning it is as cheap to run as a Ford Fiesta. I think I know which one I would rather have. And for once not only have Land Rover thought about the engine but they have thought about the interior as well. I know that the interior of a Land Rover isn't usually terrible but they never give it much thought and just stick anything modern or leather in. This time they have made it so the whole car is actually recyclable. Instead of putting unrecyclable padding in the seats they have made the seats out of wood and put a thin layer leather on top. It is still amazingly comfortable! Its body shape is really muscled up and still gives you that impression of a sexy beast. But don't worry, just because it emits 120g/km it still has an amazing 4X4 system. Talking about its drive system the car will let you drive a slow traffic speed up to 20 mph and all on electric power which is made by regenerative breaking. Going back to interior there is a slot to plug your iphone into with a very advanced sat nav. The main centre consol allows you to control almost everything e.g. on board entertainment. If there is one main thing I admire about Land Rover it is their arrogance to budge from a fuel powered car because they refuse to comprise power with being green, they have clearly shown with this model that there is no need to compromise. And when we do run out of oil no doubt they will either make biofuel models or they will go down with their own ship proud of what they have achieved. To find out more go to:
